Imagine driving by Tonganoxie High School, glancing over and seeing a courtyard with a visible T created with memorial bricks. Surrounding the T, you would see a pattern of bricks. These bricks would display names of community members, groups, etc. To complete this courtyard, picnic tables and benches would be placed to provide an outdoor common area that could also be used for outdoor classroom space. The vision just described to you will be known as Chieftain Remembrance Walk.

The inspiration for this unique courtyard sadly came from the death of a brave young man. A legacy such as Chieftain Remembrance Walk, would honor not only him, but many other alumni, teachers, staff members, administrators and board members in our town of Tonganoxie.

Thanks to the generosity of several businesses and individual volunteers Chieftain Remembrance Walk is now a part of Tonganoxie High School.
